There are a lot of easy songs to play on piano. When you are first learning to play the piano or any instrument it’s always a good motivator to learn songs as you go. It helps to keep your interest if you can take a little time to learn some easy piano songs and it gives you a sense of accomplishment and helps you to see how you’ve progressed and what you are currently capable of. Even if you’re not a beginner it’s still can be fun playing some easy songs. Music doesn’t always have to be complicated to enjoy playing it. Think about songs like “Wild Thing”  or “Louie Louie”  They are a perfect example of how songs can be simple yet still fun. One of the funnest things you can do is to take a three chord progression and jam around on it (improvise) to your hearts content. I’m going to focus on what would be considered popular easy songs to play on piano for people just starting out but with a little piano savvy.

I’d first like to say that you can easily find video tutorials online for the following songs so if you’re interested that  is available to you. The first song that I think would fun and easy to learn is also a great classic and that’s  the Beatles “Let It Be”.  This one is also great for your family, friends and you to sing along with as well. Being a slower song it also gives you some time to change chords.

If you would like to do something more contemporary there are some songs you can learn that are relatively easy like “My Immortal”  Evanessnce,  “No One” Alicia Keys,  “Apologize” One Republic, “Unfaithful” and “Take A Bow” Rihanna.

Some classical easy songs to play on piano pieces might include  ”Clair de lune” Debussy, “Fur Elise” and “Moonlight Sonata” Beethoven.

A couple of easy piano songs that would be good for the holidays are “Jingle Bells” and “Silent Night” and of course there are always the songs like “Mary Had A Little Lamb” and “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”.

It can be a lot of fun but unless you’re just not interested in doing anything more don’t get too hung up on it. It can serve as a great motivational tool but try not to get complacent and leave it at that. It can never take the place of being a bonafide pianist/keyboardist which requires a lot more work and commitment but is also much more rewarding. Just something to think about when it comes to easy songs to play on the piano so have fun with it.
