Ashton guitars are manufactured and designed by the Aston Music Company out of Australia. Some of their electric guitars are considered to be comparable with that of Fender’s Squier models which is a budget line for Fender but still a great value at the price. They play and sound great making them a nice instrument as a starter guitar and also a good guitar for the more seasoned player.
Electric Models Of Ashton Guitars
The AGC 35 is a model that is reminiscent of the Fender Stratocaster body design. The body is basswood which is typically lighter so it should be a little easier on your back when
playing out and also tends to have a warm tone but the wood is also softer making it more prone to chips and dents. The neck is maple and the fingerboard is rosewood which have always been personal favorites of mine. It carries one humbucker pickup and two single coils with 5-way switching.
The AGT40 has the classic body likeness of the Fender Telecaster. The body comes in either ash with the sunburst finish or basswood in black. I think the ash is a pretty good wood for the type of music that is generally played on this style of body that being country, classic rock and blues. It helps to give the higher still have a great tonal quality. It has two single coil pickups with a 3-way selector switch and a single volume and a single tone control. The neck and fingerboard are both maple on the sunburst model with the exception being that the fingerboard is rosewood on the black model.
The AGS55 resembles the Gibson SG guitar body. The ashton body design uses basswood with a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. It also has two chrome humbucker pickups with a 3-way selector and two volume and two tone controls.
The AGL65 takes on the appearance of the ever popular Gibson Les Paul model. The basswood body with with maple neck and rosewood fingerboard are also used on this model. It also carries two humbucker pickups with 3-way switching, two volume, two tone controls and chrome hardware.
