Pandora is the one I personally use and I really enjoy it. There is a free or paid version it allows you up to 40 hours of listening a month with some advertisements. It allows you to choose different music or bands you like and it will play there music and other bands as well that are related to the ones you pick out. If a song comes up you don’t care to listen to you can skip it and continue on with the next song. I believe the free version allows you to do this a limited amount of times per hour. You can also purchase songs you enjoy if you like. One of the things I really like about Pandora is that it plays songs from the various artist you like and their hits but also their songs that you don’t typically hear on your standard radio station so you will find yourself going “oh yeah I forgot all about this song” It’s a lot of fun they also have mobile apps so you can listen to it on the go if your device is compatible. I use it on my iphone by plugging it into the car auxiliary and I’m good to go.
Grooveshark is another of the music listening sites that offers a free service with advertising they also allow you to be able to upload your own music collection so it is available to stream from anywhere which is certainly of added value. They also have a paid monthly subscription for a small fee that allows you to for go the advertising.
Another of the music listening websites that is available to you is Last.FM they as well provide a similar features as the other two for free to US, UK and German residents. Their Audioscrobbler system recommends music based on the music the user listens to. This is accomplished through the users computer, various music devices and internet radio data sent to their database through the music player or a plugin which is then accessible to the user on their profile page.
