The founding company for GMS drums is located in Farmingdale, New York and was established in 1984. This is a great custom drum and very much comparable to DW. You may even prefer the GMS drums to a DW kit especially for a live performance. It has a nice even tone as well as great attack and projection. The ring out is warm, round and long. The kick drums are well known for their exceptional low end sound. Another point worth mentioning is how good these drums sound with a variety of different heads on them which will allow you to have more choice to find a sound that fits your taste. Because of the natural great sound they have, they are also very easy to adjust to find sounds you like and you will most likely enjoy trying variations of heads, bottoms, damping and gating. The chances are that you will most likely find a variety of the tones you come up with.
